COVID-19 case count in the Northwestern Health Unit reaches a new high

The Kenora and Sioux Lookout health hubs have the great majority of the cases.

KENORA  — The Northwestern Health Unit reported 42 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the number of active cases in its service area to 418.

That's a new daily record for an active case count in the NWHU's catchment area.

It's eight higher than the previous record which was established on Monday.

The Sioux Lookout health hub had the highest number of new cases, with 25.

Others were in the Kenora health hub (15), and Dryden and Rainy River health hubs (one apiece).

Kenora and Sioux Lookout health hubs have by far the highest number of active cases within the NWHU's jurisdiction, with 171 and 166 respectively.
 
Four residents are currently hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19, five fewer than on Monday.
