COVID-19 case reported at St. Elizabeth school

THUNDER BAY – A case of COVID-19 has been reported at St. Elizabeth Elementary School in Thunder Bay's south end.

Parents and guardians of students in an impacted cohort had been contacted, along with affected staff, the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board said in a statement released Monday night.

As of Monday night, the board said all other COVID-19 cases at its schools were considered resolved.

Lakehead Public Schools, meanwhile, was reporting cases at four schools, including five active cases at Gorham and Ware Community School, three at Hammarskjold High School, two at Ecole Elsie MacGill Public School, and one at Kakabeka Falls Public School, according to the school board's website.

There were 63 active cases across the Thunder Bay district, with 22 newly reported on Monday. Three district residents were in hospital with the virus, with one in the ICU.

Note: An earlier version of this article mentioned confirmed cases at other Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board schools, based on figures posted on the board's website. The TBCDSB has since clarified those previous cases were considered resolved by public health as of Monday.
