KENORA - The Northwestern Health unit reported a new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Kenora health hub area Sunday.

The health unit provided no additional details on the case, which it announced via Facebook, saying only that follow-up with the individual was under way, and "anyone who is identified as a contact for this case will be contacted directly."

The Kenora health hub area includes a broad swath of the region, including numerous First Nations.

It's the first case reported by the Northwestern Health Unit, which covers the Rainy River district and part of the Kenora district, since July 9.

The health unit has now reported a total of 43 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with all but Sunday's new case considered resolved.
