RAINY RIVER FIRST NATIONS, Ont. — A member of Rainy River First Nations has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

The announcement is posted on the Facebook page of RRFN, which is located about 40 kilometres west of Fort Frances.

According to the message to members, Fort Frances Tribal Area Health Services has been in touch with the individual, and has initiated contact tracing.

Community health nurses have already reached out to people who may have had close contact with the individual.

Anyone who was within two metres of an infected person for more than 15 minutes is considered to be a close contact.

Fort Frances Tribal Area Health Services had personnel on the ground at Rainy River First Nations on Tuesday to hold an additional testing clinic for those who may be concerned about their risk of getting COVID-19.

Testing is also available at the Riverside Assessment Centre.
