COVID-19 caseload falls by two

No new cases were reported Tuesday.

THUNDER BAY — After reaching double digits for the first time in over two months, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay district fell by two on Tuesday.

No new cases were reported, and two previously diagnosed cases were resolved.

The district health unit said there are now eight active cases, compared with 10 the day before.

Currently, there are no district residents receiving treatment for COVID-19 in hospital.

The TBDHU also released updated data for vaccination rates in its service area.

As of Aug. 28, 81.9 per cent of the district population 18 years old and over has received at least one dose of vaccine, and 74.2 per cent is fully immunized.

In the Northwestern Health Unit, based in Kenora, no new confirmed COVID cases were reported Tuesday, leaving the active case count at four in that part of Northwestern Ontario.
