COVID-19 caseload in Thunder Bay district falls to two

This is the lowest case count in over a month.

THUNDER BAY — A brief announcement Tuesday morning described the current COVID-19 situation in the Thunder Bay district as "great news."

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported no new confirmed cases in the past 24 hours.

With two previous cases having been resolved, the active case count fell to just two.

The last date the count was this low was Aug. 17, 2021.

No district residents are currently receiving treatment in hospital for COVID-19.

In the Northwestern Health Unit's service area, west of Thunder Bay, there are currently nine active cases, including six in the Rainy River district and three in the Dryden/Red Lake area.

The NWHU reported no new cases on Tuesday.
