THUNDER BAY – Four more cases have been added to the Thunder Bay COVID-19 case count.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit on Monday said the exposure category in three of the cases are pending, while the other is related to an outbreak at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre, the 87th case announced at the facility.

To date there have been 1,064 active cases, including 479 announced in 2021. Another eight cases are considered resolved since Sunday, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 929. There are 108 cases considered active, just the second time since Jan. 21, when the count was 79, that the district has been below 100 active cases.

There have been 27 deaths related to COVID-19, though none since Jan. 30.

At present there are two cases in hospital, including one in the intensive care unit. Both are down one since Sunday’s numbers were reported.
