KENORA – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, after two patients tested positive.
That has prompted the hospital to activate its pandemic plan, it said in a release Saturday. Visitor restrictions were put in place at 3 p.m., with limited exceptions for end of life patients and other extenuating circumstances.
Testing and contact tracing are also underway, the hospital said, along with isolation of any patients or staff determined to have been exposed.
“Early recognition and swift actions in response to these episodes are essential for effective management of any outbreak,” it stated.
