THUNDER BAY – An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at the Southbridge Lakehead Manor long-term care home.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit announced the facility-wide outbreak Tuesday afternoon, but didn't share details on how many residents or staff were impacted. TBNewswatch has requested further information from the health unit and home operator Southbridge Care Homes.

A COVID-19 outbreak was declared at another local home run by the same company, Southbridge Pinewood, earlier Tuesday, with one resident and two staff members so far testing positive.

The Vickers Street facility accommodates 131 residents.
