COVID outbreak declared at Chartwell Hilldale Retirement Home

Staff member tests positive, triggering the outbreak declaration.

THUNDER BAY – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Chartwell Hilldale Retirement Residence.

According to the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, a staff member was confirmed to have the virus, enough to trigger outbreak status in the facility.

The health unit, in collaboration with staff and management at Chartwell Hilldale Retirement Residence, is undertaking a thorough assessment of the situation, which includes enhanced surveillance and testing activities and on-site inspection.

If further measures are needed, they will be taken.
