COVID positivity test rate edges upward

THUNDER BAY — The COVID-19 test positivity rate in the Thunder Bay area has reversed its recent downward trend.

New data published by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit shows that an average of 12 per cent of tests conducted during the week of June 5 to June 11 came back positive.

In the previous week, the positivity test rate was 10.1 per cent. 

TBDHU on Wednesday also reported 33 people are currently in district hospitals with COVID-19, compared with 25 on Monday.

Four of these individuals are in intensive care, the same number that was reported on Monday.

The current active COVID-19 case count in the district is 113, a drop of 17 over the past two days.

The health unit reported two ongoing outbreaks in high-risk settings.
