Coyotes trade Hutton to Toronto

Arizona will receive future considerations for Hutton, who signed a one-year, $750,000 deal with the Coyotes last summer.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Thunder Bay goaltender Carter Hutton is headed north of the border.

The 10-year NHL veteran on Monday was traded by the Arizona Coyotes to the Toronto Maple Leafs, in return for future considerations.

Hutton, who has spent most of the season on the injured list, played three games for the Coyotes, allowing 15 goals in 116 minutes over three appearances.

The 36-year-old signed with Arizona last summer and has played with Chicago, Nashville, St. Louis and Buffalo.

In 234 career NHL games, the 35-year-old Superior International Junior Hockey League graduate has a 94-90-27 record with a 2.76 goals against average. Hutton led the NHL in goals against average and save percentage in 2017-18,

Hutton has cleared waivers and is eligible to be sent to the American Hockey League.
