Crash kills one in Kenora District

Southbound van left Highway 105, striking several trees before coming to rest.

RED LAKE – Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 105 in the unorganized territory of the Kenora District.

In a release issued on Thursday, police said a van was traveling southbound and left the roadway, striking several trees.

An off-duty EMS worker arrived on scene shortly afterward and the lone occupant of the van, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead.

Ear Falls Fire Department also responded to the incident, which occurred at about 3:53 p.m. CDT on Wednesday.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
