Police charge man following theft incident

WAWA, Ont. – A Thunder Bay man is facing several charges after police respond to a theft incident late Saturday afternoon.

According to an OPP release, police responded to reports of a theft, which had taken place at a rest area about 20 kilometres South of Wawa, Ont.

Police received a detailed description of the man and the motor vehicle.

The motor vehicle was observed and stopped by police on Highway 17 in the Laronde Township District of Algoma.

As a result, a 20-year-old Thunder Bay man was arrested and charged with two counts of adult possession property obtained by crime under $5,000, adult personation with intent to avoid arrest and prosecution or obstruction of justice.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court June 11.
