Traffic stop leads to drug bust

Ontario Provincial Police have four people in custody following a traffic stop Friday night.

FORT FRANCES, Ont. – A traffic stop by OPP Friday night has led to a seizure of drugs and firearms.

Police conducted a traffic stop of a motor vehicle, which had four occupants.

During the traffic stop, police learned the male driver was wanted on a warrant from the city of Winnipeg.

The man was arrested and further investigation revealed that all the occupants in the vehicle were in possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, methamphetamine and cash.

All four occupants were charged with multiple firearm and drug trafficking-related charges.

The four accused were held in custody and will be appearing in court on Monday, April 30.
