THUNDER BAY -- The cold start to spring has been great for cross-country skiers.

The Kamview Nordic Ski Centre general manager said the trails are still in great shape and spring skiing is at its best right now.

Dave Suttie said it’s hard to say how much longer the centre will stay open since it’s weather dependent.

“People are still coming every day,” Suttie said.

“It’s not as busy as it would be in the regular season, because people kind of start looking for other things to do, but this year it’s been really good and there’s been lots of skiing, so it’s been an awesome season.”

Suttie added they have had skiing in May before, but they will take it week to week for now.
