Four people were sent to hospital with minor injuries from a collision that occurred between a police cruiser and another car Thursday evening on the city's south side.

Two adults and two children were taken to the hospital as a result of the crash that happened at the intersection of Arthur and Franklin Streets around 7:40 p.m.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged and a traffic light had been knocked down. The police cruiser also drove through the fence of Pope John Paul II School.

Traffic was closed on Arthur from Vickers to Norah Streets for an extended period of time.

Thunder Bay Police Traffic Sgt. Glenn Porter issued a media release Friday afternoon and said police anticipates a charge pending, but would not elaborate further on which driver it may be against. Further details are to be released next week at the conclusion of the investigation.
