THUNDER BAY — a 28-year-old city man faces charges of assault and assaulting a police officer following an altercation Sunday.
According to the Thunder Bay Police Service, officers were dispatched just before noon to an address in the zero-to-100 block of Cumberland Street North.
On arrival, they were told a man had become irate and attacked a woman while also making threats to harm her.
The female victim, who knew the man, didn't appear to require medical attention.
When police located the alleged assailant, he became combative and attacked the arresting officer.
He's now charged with assault, assault with intent to resist arrest, uttering threats to kill or commit bodily harm, and obstructing a peace officer.
The man was scheduled to appear Monday in bail court.
