THUNDER BAY — The local casino is one of nearly a dozen across the province that will remain closed due to a cyber-security incident.

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment have closed operations at all of their Ontario sites since Sunday afternoon.

A news release said the casino closures are expected to continue for "the coming days" as they work to restore their IT systems, but did not provide more specific information about when the sites might reopen.

The company said it has retained third-party professionals to probe the matter, but at this point does not have information that would indicate that any personal data was compromised.
