DeGrazia earns conditional status on Mackenzie Tour

Thunder Bay golfer finished T-17 at a qualifying event in San Antonio and will have a shot to earn a spot in the field for some events this summer.

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay golfer Evan DeGrazia has earned conditional status this year on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada.

DeGrazia last month finished in a tie for 17th at the USA Central qualifying school in San Antonio, Texas.

According to the Tour website, conditional status doesn't provide guaranmteed starts in Mackenzie Tour events, but it does provide membership incentives, including TPC facility access, reduced open qualifying fees and exemptions through pre-qualifying for next year's Korn Ferry Tour Q-school.

Last season, between five and 26 players with conditional status earned starts via thier status through the first six events on Tour.

DeGrazia fired a four-round, five-over 293 total and missed fully exempt status for the first six events by four shots.

American Blake Elliott topped the field with a 284 title and earned fully exempt status for the entire 2020 season.

DeGrazia played in four Staal Foundation Opens at Whitewater Golf Course, from 2015 to 2018, missing the cut each time.
