The city has begun demolition of the former Inntowner building.
City of Thunder Bay officials announced they have begun demolition of the building on 301 Brodie St. S Monday. The city acquired the property as part of its strategic plan to invest in the revitalization and development of the south-side downtown, city officials said.
The property is expected to become a parking lot for the future consolidated courthouse and District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board buildings. City officials have also said that the property could be used for redevelopment purposes of that area in the future.
The demolition of the former Inntowner building is expected to be complete by mid December.
