THUNDER BAY – A report on the designated truck route is being withdrawn by City Administration from the June 4 Committee of the Whole meeting after concerns with the implementation of the route were encountered.
The report recommended a designated truck route be put in place to manage heavy truck traffic in the City that would lead to a new by-law implementing the plan.
Further consultation by City Administration with stakeholders will take place.
"We have received significant interest from the community on this project, so we wanted to let the community know that this report will not be presented as scheduled," said Kayla Dixon, Director of Engineering and Operations.
Work continues to bring this report back to City Council as soon as possible.
