A report that states Michael Gravelle may not run in the 2011 provincial election is completely false, the cabinet minister says.

The minister of northern development, mines and forestry said he doesn’t know where the report, which was published in some national news organizations, got its information from.

The Thunder Bay – Superior North MPP added that he always tries to make it clear that he does plan to run again whenever he speaks about his political future.

The report listed provincial ministers now sitting in McGuinty’s cabinet who may not return for another election.

Gravelle said he was shocked and upset by the article. He has since been working at getting a retraction.

Gravelle was first elected in 1995, and was named Minister of Northern Development and Mines in late 2007. Forestry was later added to his cabinet portfolio.
