NEWARK, N.J. -- A second Thunder Bay player has been placed on the NHL's COVID-19 list.

New Jersey Devils goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood was placed on the list, joining Carolina Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal. Devils teammate Jesper Bratt is also on the list.

The league places players on the list for a variety of reasons, including positive tests and close contact exposure. Being placed on the list does not mean a player has tested positive for COVID-19.

Blackwood is 2-0-1 with a 1.90 goals against average in three games this season.
