Dirt bike rider and cyclist injured in separate collisions

THUNDER BAY — Ontario Provincial Police say a young boy was injured in a dirt bike collision on the weekend.

Officers were called to a location on Auto Road in Ware Township on Saturday morning.

According to OPP, a group of friends had been riding their dirt bikes on private property when one of them lost control of his machine.

The 13-year-old was taken to hospital by air ambulance suffering from what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Motorist charged in Lakeshore Dr. collision

OPP have charged a rural Thunder Bay man with a Highway Traffic Act offence after a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist.

Police said the incident occurred Friday evening on Lakeshore Drive at Ishkibibble Beach Road in the Municipality of Shuniah.

The cyclist suffered minor injuries in the collision, which occurred as the motorist was attempting to make a right turn onto the beach road.

A 21-year-old resident of Murillo is charged with Turn Not in Safety.
