Disturbance call results in impaired driving charges

An early morning call to OPP has resulted in charges for one woman.

RED LAKE – A 37-year-old Red Lake resident is facing impaired driving charges following a disturbance call.

Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police officers were dispatched to a disturbance call Saturday, Dec. 11 around 3:20 a.m. around Pine Crescent area in the Municipality of Red Lake.

Officers located a vehicle in the ditch.

Police say through investigation, officers deemed the driver to be a part of the disturbance call and it was determined that they had been consuming alcohol.

The female driver was placed under arrest and taken to detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Red Lake woman is charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), dangerous operation, assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000.

She was held for a bail hearing and released by way of release order for Red Lake court on Jan. 20, 2022.
