Disturbance leads to drug arrest

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the uniform patrol branch were dispatched to an apartment in the 200 block of Rowand Street just after 2:15 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2 following reports of a disturbance.

As a result of an investigation into the disturbance, police located a quantity of narcotics, paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking, cash, and suspected stolen merchandise.

A male suspect was arrested at the scene and charged with drug-related offences.

The narcotics seized are suspected to be fentanyl and crack cocaine.

A 21-year-old of Toronto, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and obstruct peace officer.

He appeared in court Thursday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
