City residents are being reminded not to leave garbage and recycling bags on top of snowbanks.

In a release issued on Thursday by the municipality, a city spokeswoman said doing so puts both residents and waste collection crews in danger.

City workers are not permitted to climb snowbanks to retrieve items.

"Ideally, place waste and recycling bags at the end fo the driveway, a foot or two from the road, where they will be visible to the crews," the spokeswoman said.
