THUNDER BAY – The city has issued its annual reminder to residents to not place trash bags and cans or recycling bags on snowbanks.

In a release, city officials say that waste left on snowbanks poses dangers to both passersby and waste collection crews, noting refuse collectors are not allowed to climb snowbanks to retrieve items.

Residents should place waste and recycling at the end of the driveway, a metre from the road, where they are visible to crews.
