A male driver is in hospital and facing an impaired driving charge following a two-vehicle collision on Saturday evening.

A second driver was sent to hospital and has been since released following the crash on Oliver Road between Highway 11/17 and Mapleward Road shortly before 6 p.m.

Police did not specify which driver was facing charges.

The collision prompted police to reroute traffic on Oliver Road between Grandview Road and Burns Road for much of the evening as the traffic unit conducted their investigation.

One of the vehicles, a green Jeep, was off the south side of the road and rolled over against a tree. An occupant was extracted from the vehicle and placed on a stretcher before being transported to hospital via ambulance.
