DAWSON ROAD LOTS, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police say they are investigating yet another incident of a vehicle blowing through a stop sign at Sistonen's Corners.

In a release issued on Thursday morning, Shabaqua OPP said they responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of Highway 11/17 and Highway 102 at about 4:46 p.m. Wednesday, stating it appears the vehicle lost control on the off-ramp exiting Highway 102, went over the curb of the concrete island and crossed Highway 11/17.

The vehicle, which did not collide with another vehicle, then traversed the steel barrier and came to rest in the east-bound ditch of Highway 11/17.

The driver, a 27-year-old from Fort Frances, Ont., was charged with unsafe move - lane or shoulder.

There were no injuries in the crash, the fourth such incident in recent weeks.

Two people died and four people were injured when a tractor-trailer failed to stop at the stop sign at the end of Highway 102 and crashed into a minivan traveling on Highway 11/17.

The Ministry of Transportation last month said it was investigating ways in which to make the intersection safer.

"This is the fourth collision at that intersection in the past two months. The OPP would like drivers to slow down and drive with care, especially when approaching an intersection," reads Thursday's release.
