Driver charged after crash closes Highway 11

A tractor-trailer mishap on Highway 11 that led to a road closure has resulted in a charge against the rig's driver.

A tractor-trailer mishap on Highway 11 that led to a road closure has resulted in a charge against the rig's driver. 

Officials with the OPP say the trucker lost control just north of Lake Helen, with the westbound truck ending up in a ditch on the side of the road. 

A tank was ruptured in the crash, allowing fuel to run into a nearby creek.

The incident stopped traffic for about three-and-a-half hours. 

The 29-year-old Brampton, Ont., truck driver has been charged with careless driving.
