Driver in crash charged for impaired driving: OPP

After responding to reports of a crash, OPP charged the driver for impaired driving.

(KENORA, ON)  Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Kenora woman with Impaired Driving related offences following a motor vehicle collision (MVC).

On Saturday, October 15, 2016, shortly before 4:00 pm, police received a report of a MVC on Highway 525 near the community of Wabseemoong First Nations. 

OPP attended and Treaty Three Police and EMS were on scene as well as ORNGE air ambulance.  

It was determined the female driver had been consuming alcohol. 

The female driver and a male passenger were transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of this investigation, 23-year-old Kenora woman has been charged with Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm contrary to section 255(2) of the Criminal Code (CC) and Driving While Disqualified s.259(4) CC. 

She is to appear in Kenora court on December 15, 2016 to answer to the charge.
