The Thunder Bay Police Service has charged a motorist involved in an October 2019 fatal collision involving a pedestrian.

Police were originally dispatched to the collision on Oct 17 after 9:30 p.m. on Memorial Avenue near the area of 10th Avenue.

An investigation revealed that a couple – a woman in a wheelchair and a man – was crossing Memorial Avenue together. The woman in the wheelchair fell onto the roadway when the couple was in the turning lane and about to enter the southbound centre-lane.

The man was about to attempt to assist the woman when a minivan struck her.
