A 33-year-old man has been charged in an alleged hit-and-run incident on Memorial Avenue on Sunday night.

The driver, who police have not identified, was charged with failing to render assistance under the Highway Traffic Act, after a man who was lying in the southbound lanes of the busy street was struck and sent to hospital.

The pedestrian, however, faces charges of his own, police said Thursday night.

Also not identified, the pedestrian was charged with being intoxicated in a public place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act and impeding vehicular traffic contrary to a City of Thunder Bay bylaw.
