THUNDER BAY – A woman escaped a vehicle rollover without serious injuries Friday, thanks to a quick response from firefighters.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews answered reports of a single-vehicle collision on Lakeshore Drive, just east of Hodder near the train overpass, around 11 p.m.
Responders arrived to find a single female occupant unconscious in a vehicle that was overturned and partially on fire.
Despite advancing flames, firefighters were able to remove the woman through an accessible door, allowing crews to knock down a fire in the engine compartment.
The woman regained partial consciousness on scene and was transferred to hospital without serious injuries, TBFR reported.
