Drowning victim identified: OPP

Officials with the Greenstone detachment of the OPP have released more details as they continue to investigate the drowning death of 35-year-old Bradley Penner of Nipigon.

(GREENSTONE, ON)-  At 8:16am on Saturday, September 3, 2016 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Greenstone detachment received a report of a male submerged in the water at High Hill Harbour off Highway 580 North of Beardmore, Ontario. 

Police responded to the call along with Superior North Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Beardmore Fire Department.

At approximately 9:10am Beardmore Fire recovered the body of a male who was submerged in the harbour.  The male was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deceased is Bradley Penner, 35 years old, of Nipigon, Ontario.

Thunder Bay OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) was dispatched to assist with the investigation. 

The investigation is ongoing and police await the results of the post mortem examination.
