THUNDER BAY — Two city residents and a person from the Greater Toronto Area have been arrested following a four-week investigation into drug trafficking in Northwestern Ontario.

OPP announced Monday they have seized two kilograms of suspected cocaine, 250 grams of suspected fentanyl, hundreds of hydromorphone tablets, a quantity of suspected LSD powder, 12 pounds of illicit cannabis, and other items associated with drug trafficking.

A 29-year-old Mississauga man is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.

He was remanded into custody pending a future appearance in court.

A 40-year-old woman from Thunder Bay is charged with possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, and a 25-year-old woman from the city is charged with possession of opioids for the purpose of trafficking.

Both local women were released from custody with a date to return to court.
