(MARATHON, ON) – On June 5, 2016 at approximately 1:00 a.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marathon Detachment conducted a traffic stop at Barrick Gold Lane, Town of Marathon.
After speaking to the driver officers determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.
The driver was arrested and transported to Marathon OPP detachment for further investigation.
As a result, the 43-year-old Pic River First Nation man, has been charged with Driving Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired and Driving with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to the Criminal Code.
The male is to appear in Ontario Court of Justice on July 21, 2016 to answer to these charges.
