Dryden man charged with assaulting police

A 34-year-old Dryden man has been charged with assaulting police and mischief to a police vehicle.

DRYDEN, Ont. -- Dryden Police have charged a 34-year-old male following an altercation at the Extra Foods parking lot in Dryden Friday night.

Dryden Police Service received a call of a disturbance of an intoxicated male at the Tim Hortons parking lot.

The male was located at the Extra Foods parking lot where he began to fight and threatened to kill officers. Police say once he was under arrest he also damaged a police vehicle.

The 34-year-old Dryden man has been charged with two counts of assaulting police, six counts of uttering death threats, resisting arrest and mischief over $5,000.

He remains in custody and was scheduled to appear for bail in Sioux Lookout on Monday.
