The Dryden Police Service is investigating what they are calling a heinous crime captured on a video that has been circulating social media.
A news release issued by Dryden police Chief Robert Davis states police were made aware of a video on March 19 that had been posted on YouTube of a First Nations man being allegedly assaulted in a Dryden fast food restaurant.
The video has since been removed from YouTube; the site says it violated YouTube’s policy prohibiting content designed to harass, bully or threaten.
The video can still be found on Facebook.
Officers believe they have identified both the suspect and the victim of the incident, which they believe may have taken place before March 19.
Police are asking anyone who has any additional information or may have witnessed the incident, including the person who recorded the video, to contact Det. Sgt. Ann Tkachyk at (807)223-3281.
Dryden police are reminding people to report crimes when they happen.
