Ear Falls resident is facing drug-related charges

A 35-year-old is scheduled to appear in court next month to answer to charges following a traffic stop.

RED LAKE – A late afternoon traffic stop in the Municipality of Red Lake has resulted in drug-related charges.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, officers conducted a traffic stop on Saturday, Dec. 11 around 6:15 p.m. at the junction of Highway 125 and Highway 105.

As a result of the investigation a 35-year-old Ear Falls resident has been charged with possession of a schedule I substance - opioid, possession of a schedule I substance - substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid, possession of a schedule I substance - substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The Ear Falls resident was released by way of undertaking for Red Lake court on Jan. 20, 2022 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charges.
