Early morning fire deals extensive damage

There were no reported injuries in an early morning fire that caused extensive damage.

THUNDER BAY -- City fire crews responded to a structural fire on the city's south side early Monday morning.

According to a Thunder Bay Fire Rescue release, fire crews responded to a structural fire Monday around 3:30 a.m. on Ruskin Crescent.

While on route crews noticed dark smoke in the area and the response was upgraded to a second alarm.

Fire crews arrived on scene to find smoke and flame coming from the structure.

According to fire crews, flames could be seen 10 feet over the roof top of the structure.

An offensive attack was initiated on the exterior of the structure to battle the fire and contain it.

The fire was quickly brought under control limiting damage.

Fire damage was extensive to the structure.

The fire is under investigation to determine the cause of the incident.

There were no reported injuries.
