Eleven new COVID-19 cases announced

Thunder Bay has now had 200 cases since the pandemic began last spring. Fifty-eight are considered active at this time.

THUNDER BAY -- Eleven new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in the Thunder Bay District. 

The cases were announced on Thursday by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit. All 11 are considered close contact cases and all are in self isolation. 

The newly confirmed cases bring TBDHU's number to 200 since the pandemic began. There are at present 58 active cases, with 141 considered recovered. There has been one death in the district related to COVID-19. 

The recent batch of cases have mostly stemmed from two separate outbreaks related to a local residential facility and within the pickleball community.
