THUNDER BAY -- A person in distress had to be rescued from the water near the Kaministiquia River Heritage Park.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, in a release issued late on Monday night, said they were called at about 4:30 p.m. and informed about the need for a water rescue.
Crews arrived on scene to find police officers attempting to rescue the person
Firefighters then donned rescue suits to assist the victim. A sling had to be used to lift the person to safety as the height of the dock posed issues on that front.
Paramedics checked the individual and transported the patient to hospital.
