THUNDER BAY — A man was rushed to hospital early Tuesday morning with serious injuries after an assault in a north-side Thunder Bay neighbourhood.
The incident occurred just after midnight in an apartment in the 100 block of Empress Avenue North.
Based on the nature of the victim's injuries, it's believed he suffered multiple stab wounds.
Thunder Bay Police took a 26-year-old city man into custody at the scene on a charge of aggravated assault.
He appeared in court Tuesday morning and was remanded in custody.
Police confirm the accused and the victim were known to each other.
The Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the assault.
