Environment Canada issues special weather statement

THUNDER BAY -- A special weather statement has been issued for the city of Thunder Bay

According to Environment Canada, rain, at times heavy, is expected to fall on the city beginning Wednesday and continuing into Thursday evening.

A slow moving area of low pressure over central United States will bring an extended period of rain to parts of northern Ontario.

Between 25 and 40 millimetres is expected by Thursday morning.

There is a possibility of localized flooding in low-lying areas.
