THUNDER BAY -- The inmate who escaped from law enforcement is back in police custody after a 24-hour period on the run.
Lindsay Legarde was located walking in the area of railway tracks about 19 kilometres west of Rossport and was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Thursday by members of the OPP emergency response team
Legarde, from Pic Mobert First Nation, was being transported by the Anishinabek Police Service to the Thunder Bay District Jail when escaped west of Gravel River at the Little Cypress Bridge snow plow turnaround around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The 36-year-old was facing counts of mischief and breach of recognizance and was en route to Thunder Bay to face additional charges.
A statement issued by provincial police did not say whether he would be facing further charges relating to the escape.
