Escaped prisoner behind bars in Alberta

Philip Robert Crosby, 48, walked away from the Thunder Bay District Jail on Oct. 11

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police have confirmed an escaped prisoner from the Thunder Bay District Jail has been apprehended in Leduc, Alta.

Philip Robert Crosby, 48, has been on the run since Oct. 11, when he slipped outside the aging facility through a service entrance.

According to a CBC Edmonton report, after police received a tip, the suspect was found inside a bank and taken into custody.

According to Thunder Bay Police he was being held at the District Jail while awaiting court appearances to face charges for driving offenses, resisting arrest and breach of court orders.
