The city will be hosting an open house and public information session Wednesday regarding a proposed new event centre.

In addition to regular news coverage, tbnewswatch.com will be streaming the entire open house live. The City of Thunder Bay’s open house and public information session is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 29 from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Italian Culture Centre on 132 Algoma Street South.

Presentations from the consulting team are set for 4 and 7 p.m.

In addition to the live streaming, tbnewswatch.com will be tweeting from the event using the hashtag #tbvoice. Use that hashtag to join the conversation at any time.

A Twitter widget will be placed on the page with the live stream. You can follow tbnewswatch.com on Twitter @tbnewswatch.

The city intends to outline the work of the event centre’s consulting team during this public open house.

The consulting team was hired to look at the downtown and waterfront area, the Thunder Bay Airport and Innova Business Park as potential sites for the new facility.

The committee is also working toward a Phase 2 feasibility study that is expected to be completed in May, which will then be presented to council.

A second open house is expected to take place in the spring.

More information is available on the city’s website.
